February 2026 Mayoral Newsletter
From the Desk of Mayor Anderton
It has been a wonderful and busy month in our community, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share some highlights with you.
We've had a productive month across many areas. We hired a new Executive Assistant to support city operations. Softball, t-ball, and baseball registrations are finalized — with the largest number of sign-ups we've ever seen! We also started hosting USSSA travel ball tournaments at Clay Ball Park, so make sure to watch a few games now that the weather has turned warm!
I was blessed to attend the Boys and Girls Club Greater Birmingham Youth of the Year ceremony alongside Mayor Keith Moseley of Warrior and Mayor Yolanda Lawson of Pleasant Grove. It was an inspiring evening celebrating the very best of our young people. A BIG congratulations to Joe K., our very own Clay finalist — we are so proud of you!

Our Public Works team has been doing incredible work out at Cosby Lake — fixing sidewalks, taking down trees, and making real progress on the bridge. I’m sure you’ve noticed the improvements! If you see them out, please tell them thanks. They work tirelessly for all of us, and they deserve the recognition.
On a personal note, I am overjoyed to share that I have welcomed a new grandson into the world — baby Arthur has arrived, healthy and happy, and this GrandJanie couldn't be more excited! (photo shared with permission!)

Thank you, as always, for allowing me to serve this great city. Looking forward to seeing you at the city council meetings on March 10 and 24!
Sincerely,
Mayor Jane Anderton
