SSG Michael W Hosey
American Legion Post 205
American Legion Post 205 is named in honor of SSG Michael W. Hosey, a CCHS graduate, who tragically lost his life in September of 2011 while serving his country in Afghanistan.
Our mission is focused on helping veterans and our community through projects and services the post offers. Veterans come from all over Central Alabama to speak with our Post Service Officers (PSO) to better understand their Benefits and get guidance on what next steps they can take.
Serving the Veterans, their Families, and the Community
Our post is supported with Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the Legion, and Legion Rider groups. These groups work together to serve those in need in our community: they recognize our Veterans and First Responders, our youth in surrounding schools, and our civic leaders with scholarships and awards given out annually.
Services Offered:
VA Program Assistance
VA Benefit Claim Assistance
Veteran Outreach events
Community Leader Recognition
Suicide Prevention Awareness
Funeral Service Support
Scouting America Charter Org for Pack 66, Troop 124, and Crew 2124 (all based in Clay)
Our missions at American Legion Post 205 will continue with support from community partners like the City of Clay, Veterans, and their families.
